Join Virginia Festival of the Book (@VaBookFest), on a social media scavenger hunt!

On your journey, you will learn a few words of wisdom that the Charlottesville and greater Albemarle County communities live by. UVA students will guide you. Follow the map to different exhibiting poster sites, where you will find work from artists and students around Charlottesville; posters by Detroit-based printmaker, Amos Paul Kennedy Jr.; presented with the support of Virginia Humanities’ Virginia Center for the Book.

How To Participate

Look for a dot like this.
  1. Follow the map to the different locations with Finding Wisdom posters.
  2. Search for the quote/poster, specified for each site. The quote you are looking for will be noted next to the installation. Look for a yellow dab of ink and a message!
  3. Take a selfie in front of the installation or beside the specific poster!
  4. Post your photos to Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, tag @VAHumanities and @VaBookFest, and include the hashtag #FindingWisdomCville for a chance to win a prize!

  1. Take 3 Selfies– Once you’re all ‘selfied’ out, with photos from at least 3 sites, you get a choice of 5 prints from the installations.
  2. Take 5 selfies or more- and you will be entered in a raffle for a free printmaking workshop with the Virginia Center for the Book at the Jefferson School City Center. You will be contacted through your social media platform, should you be the lucky winner.
  3. Take 10 selfies or more- Grand Prize opportunity!

* Bonus Challenge: Take a selfie with Amos at the Downtown Mall.
