Express yourself! Join an intense multi-medium workshop and have some serious fun.
We will explore the diverse applications of papercutting for making artist books.
During the class, we will create different books’ structure as well as paper tools to create editions.
We will cover specific techniques and methods for papercutting, folding paper, basic pop-up, and demonstrate stenciling.
Participants will discover the incredible possibilities of hiding and revealing texts and images while telling a story.
We will discuss the many steps of making an artist book: concept, gather materials and organize text and images.
Tips, tricks, and resources will be provided.
About the artist
Béatrice Coron explores visual storytelling in artist books, paper cutting, public art, and wearable sculptures.
Her cut designs are made of paper, glass or metal and range in size from small to monumental.
Her work can be seen in major collections such as the Metropolitan Museum, the Getty and the Walker, and her public art can be viewed in subway stations in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago.
