Friends, we are happy to celebrate an in-person return of our annual Raucous Auction–The Masked Ball–on November 4th at 5:30 PM! Our month-long, 25th anniversary-inspired exhibition will culminate in a live event, held in the Lemon Lounge of Virginia Humanities’ new HQ!
Visit our auction website to browse over fifty featured collaborative projects, handmade books, prints, broadsides, and one-of-a-kind book art.
Two ways to join in the fun!
Join us for delicious hors d’oeuvres and desserts by A. Pimento Catering and Old Tom gin for cocktails by Spirit Lab Distilling. Gay Beery (A. Pimento) has been feeding the Raucous Auction with her talents for food since our first foray in 2005 and Ivar Aass (Spirit Lab Distilling) is a member artist who prints his small-batch labels at Virginia Center for the Book!
30 tickets are available for purchase.
You must be vaccinated and masked to attend!
If you cannot celebrate in-person, we invite you to take part in the auction through our streaming of the live event.
You can continue to bid from home until 7 PM.
A raffle ticket is included in your Masked Ball purchase. Click the button below to purchase more or if you are virtually attending.
Our grand prize (a $300 value) is the 2017 Collaborative Project: A Pack of Lies!
Either way, you attend your phone is your guide when you register through ClickBid, our online software assuring us that this show will go on through any weather or in unforeseen circumstances of pandemic proportion.
Whether you’re donning your mask or your jammies, all bids close November 4 at 7 PM.
