Stiff leaf binding is a rigid no-sew bookbinding method in which folded sheets of paper are glued back-to-back to form a satisfyingly solid little book. Think children’s board books!
This binding is ideal for artist book projects as each sheet of paper is a complete, seamless two-page spread with no stitching breaking up the page gutter.
Participants will use their own art papers (marbled, paste, gelli print, etc.) to complete 2 stiff leaf binding books with linen and paper covers.
Participants will also experiment with cover decoration and learn how to put inlays on the cover to expand design possibilities.
If necessary, the instructor can provide papers for participants as needed.
